Happy Aloha Friday!
This week's boss babe is one of my favorite people to ever exist. She is the creator of her own brand that has been taking off on this wild journey. She is one of the most loving (& cutest) mothers you'll ever meet. I'm so excited to share this space with her and bring her inspiring energy to you. You'll never know where your talents can take you, you just have to try.
What inspired you to create your own brand?
Notted Nest was inspired by my need for a creative outlet. Growing up I always had my hands busy in some sort of craft. From balloon animals to crocheting, I literally tried it all! It became a brand once I realized there was a demand for the products I was creating.

What message are you trying to put out into the world with what you create?
I want to inspire others who may be unhappy where they are and challenge them to chase what makes them happy.

What do you tell yourself when you’re stuck in a rut?
HAH! Firstly, I remember the reason I work so hard, which is my son, Silas. Notted Nest is a second business that I started to build a better future for our family on top of my current job. Both allow me to stay home and raise him which is paramount - for me to be present, investing in and instilling godly values in him. When I think of all the opportunities this business has opened for us, I remind myself to keep chasing and creating!

What advice do you have for girls who are starting out?
Don't mistake comfort for happiness. I had a typical desk job and honestly, I was really good at what I did! But once I had my son, the only thing I knew for sure, was I wanted to find something that would allow me to work from home. That's when I began to pursue things that made me happy over comfort. It's not always easy, and sometimes you straight up think you were crazy when you took that leap and you're neck deep in questions of what the future will hold, but so far, it's all been worth it for me!

Who is the audience you wish to reach with your content?
Anyone and everyone. Art speaks differently to each individual. I'd like to think that I have the ability to create something that everyone can enjoy. That mindset helps push me to be innovative and to think differently that I normally do.

What is your definition of a “boss babe”?
I'v been so fortunate to have the support of not only women, but other momtrepreneurs! To me, a 'boss babe' is a woman who looks out for others and is interested in seeing others thrive. There's always ways for all of us to coexist even when we're in similar markets, but to be able to support and celebrate one another as we all grow is true 'boss' status!

Why is it important for girls to find their own voice and share it with the world?
I think it's important for women to be comfortable in who they are recognizing the gifts God has given them and share that confidence with one another. Women uplifting women is how we're all going to move forward. Helping one another to find what brings them joy is and pursue it.
