Kale & Cotton - Jackie Lutze

Take what you love & run with it.

That is the message that Jackie Lutze leaves with us today. Do you have something you're passionate about? Speak up. Is there something you do that brings you immense joy? Share it with the world. The world needs people who do what they love and love what they do. Sit down and try to figure out what that is for you. Then do it.

What inspired you to create your own brand?

I have been plant based for over eight years now and knew that I wanted to use my voice to spread my experiences and message. I studied journalism in school so blogging was an easy way for me to do that. Instagram also came pretty naturally to me as vegan food and photography go hand in hand! I just aim to inspire more people to be mindful of what is on their plate and the impact they have on the environment.

Where do you wish to see your brand in the future?

I hope to continue to grow my community and share my passion. I hope to inspire others to not only choose a cruelty meal and lifestyle, but also reduce wastes, choose sustainable clothing and ultimately support the kind of world that they want to live in. I hope to inspire others to use their voices for good and for change. I am also gearing up to launch a vegan clothing line later this year and cannot wait to offer gorgeous cruelty free fashion! This has been a dream of mine for years and it's finally coming to fruition.

What message are you trying to put out into the world with what you create?

Compassion. I try to live my life with compassion. From how I treat those around me to what I choose to eat, how I treat animals, people, the planet, it's all centered around compassion. There are plenty of people who use hate/ violence/ fear to try to make a difference or to get their message across, I just try to inspire others from a place of passion and understanding. I never judge how others life, I just try to show them what a world with more peace means to me.

What advice do you have for girls who are starting out?

Follow whatever sets your soul on fire. I wish I would have learned that a little earlier on. I spent the first couple years after college in jobs that I thought I should have because it was the "normal" thing to do. But I have known for a really long time that my passion sits with animal rights, veganism and environmental education. I know without a doubt that I was put on this earth to help create waves that better the lives of animals and mother earth. I am finally going after it at full force because I know I will never be fulfilled until I do. It's not the normal career path, but it is what is right for me. So you need to be true to yourself and make your passion your pay check.

Why is it important for girls to find their own voice and share it with the world?

There are so many ways in which the female voice is suppressed we MUST find our voice and stop at nothing to spread our word. Women are so powerful and it breaks my heart when I see women who feel powerless. It has be a hard world to stand up to, but find those things that you just cannot be silent about and it gets a lot harder to stay quiet. If you find something you are passionate enough about there will be no stopping you!
