Horray to the first Femme Friday of the summer! I want to use this platform to show the many different things women can do to bring light into the world. You don't have to run a blog, you don't have to be a photographer, you don't have to be doing what everyone else is doing. Just do what makes you happy.
I came across Sophia's poetry yesterday & I immediately asked her to share her personal experience with us. Her writing is so unique. It breaks your heart, but gives you life at the same time. After reading this post, you NEED to head to her website & read some of her pieces. We see a lot of men dominating the poetry world & I want women to know that your thoughts & feelings matter, too. Share your heart ache & joys with the world.
What inspired you to create your own brand?
I suppose I consider my blog and page as what I invest a lot of my time in. It’s allowed me to share my ideas and thoughts, as well as others’.
What message are you trying to put out into the world with what you create?
I’d like to think I’m creating a place that’s safe and comfortable to take time to appreciate the little things in life. Small doses of the world at a time, in my opinion, make it a bigger and more beautiful place. I emphasize and highlight that with my posts and my writing.
What do you tell yourself when you’re stuck in a rut?
Do your best and God will do the rest! My fifth grade teacher used to tell me that.

What advice do you have for girls who are starting out?
Just be yourself. That sounds so incredibly cliché but it’s the truth in its plainest form. Not being afraid of having your own opinions and indulging in things you enjoy -that others might not take the time to notice-, are the first steps to an creating an independent, creative outlet of your own. It will shape what you create, and how you create it.
What has been the greatest reward of all your hard work so far?
When people tell me they love my posts, or my messages, writings etc. I feel listened to. Although I don’t need it to feel whole, it helps me create a community of other’s who appreciate what I appreciate and love what I love. Being free to share what I love is reward enough.
Why is it important for girls to find their own voice and share it with the world?
It shapes the kind of person you become, and how you interact with people.
