Please Be You, & I Will Be Me

You are you & I am me.

Thank God for that.

We are all different people & that is the great thing about us. If we were all made with the same qualities, the same characteristics, the same path in life; then nothing would ever be done. This has been something that has become so real in my life. You do not have to be as fired up as I am when it comes to things I am passionate about. I don't have to drop everything I'm doing to support the things you support. That's how it's supposed to be.

If everyone was as passionate as I am about women's rights, other people groups and areas would be neglected. If everyone was an extremist, we would lose all empathy for other people. If everyone was a math genius, we wouldn't have beautiful poetry. If we were all talented chefs, who would eat our food? If we were all violin prodigies, who would listen to our song? Do you see my point? We are made different so that we could bring the world together through our differences.

This is a hard perspective to grasp, I know. We want people to care about the things we are passionate about. & I am not saying to not care, I'm just saying that it's okay if we don't try to be something we're not. I am not passionate about politics, but I respect people who are. Each of us has our own purpose, our own path, our own mission. We each have a lane that God has given us. We are doing each other & the world a disservice by trying to get each other to join our own lanes. I will stay in my lane, do the good that I am called to do, & I will not try to pull you into it because that is not the area you are called to serve in. I ask that you do the same & do what you are good at & don't ask me why I am not there with you. I am where I am supposed to be & so are you. Let us both do what we are called to do.

The world comes together when we try to make a difference in the area we are passionate about. Let's respect each others passions and support each other from where we are. When we step back & look at the big picture, we will see that we are actually working on a mosaic or a mural. Each of us has our own stone, but God puts it all together for His glory & His Kingdom.
