I learned that seasons are necessary because change is necessary. The cold is biting, but the trees need to rest, the bears need to rest, squirrels need to rest, birds need to rest, all of nature needs to rest. I need to rest. I cannot fight the changing of the seasons. I cannot fight the creature within me who goes the way the earth flows. She brings me beauty to remind me that it is okay to let go, it is essential to let go. She brings the winds to lay me down so that when I do wake up, all will be new and just as it should be.

Let it all go.

Autumn left without a chance to say goodbye. Winter took her place with a gentle kiss on everything she left behind. Her orange hues peek through the crystal that winter poured over the embers. Autumn came and went as she pleased.

Winter came in without trying to undo everything the goddess did before her.
