Travel Diary - Nashville

Updated: Jun 10, 2021

I love Nashville.

I love Nashville.

I love Nashville.

I love Nashville.

My boyfriend and a couple of our friends spent Friday night and Saturday exploring the wonderful city of Nashville. It was rainy and we didn't have a totally set agenda, so we didn't do as much. It was very chill and so much fun and I can't wait to go back. Here is a recap of what our trip looked like in case you're looking for recommendations!

Eats:

The Grilled Cheeserie // I would definitely go here again. Decked out grilled cheese, tasty tots, and yummy milkshakes. Bone apple feet. I got a vegan grilled cheese and a vegan coconut milkshake. What a combo.

Frothy Monkey // This coffee shop popped up on every list of must do's when I was searching Nashville on Pinterest. This place is a large coffee house with several big rooms and an upstairs. They have food as well as specialty coffees. The coffee here is really good and the shop is highly Instagramable.

Five Daughters Bakery // ESSENTIAL TO ANY TRIP TO NASHVILLE! We basically made this the center of our visit. A cute family run bakery with donuts that are to die for. They have something called 100 layer donuts which are donuts made out of croissant flour that is just layer after layer of flaky goodness, stuffed with creamy bliss. My mouth is watering just thinking about it now.

Places:

Opryland Hotel // This is a beautiful historic hotel that has three natural atriums. We walked around an indoor jungle that had plants from all over the world. The views were gorgeous and there was so much to take in. We spent a few hours of Friday evening in the hotel and ate dinner at one of the restaurants.

Hillsboro Village // We spent an hour or so window shopping in the lovely stores on a street in this cute college town. This area has a lot of character and stuff to look at if you don't have a strict itinerary. There was a general store that felt exactly like the feminist bookstore in Portlandia.

Parthenon // This was the highlight of our trip. Not only were we in awe of the Greek-like architecture, this place now has personal significant meaning. Our friends got engaged! We were taking photos and Jathan popped the question. Zoë said, "I guess so"! Other than that, you can't visit Nashville without visiting this gem.
