"You don't have to be perfect or have the perfect life or day to have something worth sharing. Who you are is enough and what you have to say is going to resonate with someone." Camille is sharing her story while connecting with others, all the while spreading joy across the world. Sometimes a brand is simply choosing to be authentic in this increasingly made up world.
What inspired you to create your own brand?
It's funny because when I set out posting on Instagram and blogging, I didn't even know it was possible to create a brand around yourself. I started posting and blogging because I felt like I had something worth sharing, or at least I was trying to convince myself of that. I think it's so easy sometimes to doubt that you have something valuable to contribute to the world or to your community, but you shouldn't doubt that what you have to say matters. I saw a handful of incredible people online sharing their stories and being real, genuine people online and that inspired me to start doing the same. These people didn't have thousands of followers, sometimes they didn't even have hundreds. They were just real people sharing their stories and building a community. That inspired me. I started posting on my blog about being in university and feeling a little unsure about what I was doing or about life experiences and how those things had shaped me. Then I brought that content to Instagram with my captions and photos. I wanted to embody the honesty and vulnerability that I was seeing in a few people and build a brand around that.

What message are you trying to put out into the world with what you create?
You don't have to be perfect or have the perfect life or day to have something worth sharing. Who you are is enough and what you have to say is going to resonate with someone. You don't have to pretend because your voice genuinely does matter. Even if no one says anything directly to you about it, even if they just internalize your message, it mattered. I love people and I love hearing people tell the stories of their successes and failures, their exciting experiences and their mundane ones. I spent a lot of time trying to convince myself that my voice was important and I just want people who come into contact with my content to feel that their voice and their message matters too.

What advice do you have for girls who are starting out?
Please, please do not give up on following your passion. Writing for a blog, branding yourself, pursuing your art, whatever you want to do, it will come with its challenges. Sometimes you will feel that you are not qualified or that you are not making a difference. My biggest piece of advice is to power through the challenges in any way you can. Look for resources, reach out to people who are in the position that you want to be in, take a day or a week or a month to organize yourself. Do whatever you need to, but do not give up. Someone out there needs to hear what you have to say or needs to see what you're putting out into the world. The challenges will pass, you will overcome them.
What is your definition of a “boss babe”?
A boss babe is someone who is working hard, finding her voice, and sharing her message. She takes the challenges in stride and isn't afraid of facing them head on. A boss babe is ambitious and even if she is scared, she puts herself out there. She embraces who she is and lives her truth.

Why is it important for girls to find their own voice and share it with the world?
Women have so much to share with the world. There is no limit to the creative ideas, the inspirational messages, the passion that women can put into this world. It's so incredibly important that women and girls find their voice because there is no one, no one, who has the same experience or can share the exact same message as each woman out there. Women have so many significant ideas that they can contribute to their communities and societies.
Do you have anything else you’d like to say?
It's okay if you don't know what your purpose is just yet or what message you want to share with the world. It's okay to take time to figure yourself out. Love who you are and where you are. Embrace that.
