Serah is one of the sweetest souls I know & everything she does points back to God. She is an obvious light and I appreciate her for that. She has a more difficult life than most but rather than sit with it, she shows up everyday to show people that they, too, should take advantage of life.

What inspired you to create your own brand? I’ve always wanted to, I’ve just been afraid and couldn’t zero in on what I wanted it to be. But once I started my business I knew it was time I just went for it. I wanted my business to offer more than hair products & a business opportunity, I wanted it to offer a sort of truth to others lives. Where do you wish to see your brand in the future? Honestly, if it impacts a few people here and there that’d be great! But I’d also love to see it help people stop using IG as a way to compare themselves, as a standard of a perfect life, to brag about something in order to receive approval. We are so stuck in seeking perfection but I’d love to see it be real because that’s much more beautiful.

What message are you trying to put out into the world with what you create? That there is SO much more than the perfect picture. That we are so strong and have so much power over our life, despite our circumstances. We can make changes now, all the stinking time, if we’re just willing. That we are dearly loved and valued more than we could ever understand. What do you tell yourself when you’re stuck in a rut? The same stuff I tell my followers! Life is life and everything has always gotten better. Nothing is perfect, mistakes happen, and at the end of the day that’s what makes things worth it and beautiful. I can choose to stay in my rut or I can choose to remember how faithful God has always been.

What advice do you have for girls who are starting out? Be REAL. Don’t create a new version of yourself for the sake of “success”. Always check yourself before you post! “Am I doing this because I truly believe in it or am I doing this because it’s what I think others want?” What has been the greatest reward of all your hard work so far? Two things! First, the growth that has come because I HAVE to be accountable to myself now that everything I’m saying is public. It’s greater than anything I’ve ever experienced. Secondly, the response and love I’ve gotten. I’m still so shocked by how many people have been encouraged and that’s exactly what my hope was!

What is your definition of success? I think I’m still figuring that one out. It’s definitely not money, followers, or likes etc. I think success isn’t even something you reach - it’s that you’re trying and you don’t give up and you won’t ever give up. Why is it important for girls to find their own voice and share it with the world? Because we all have something really valuable that we want to say. Something real, not fake, and once that’s all getting out there everyone is going to be more comfortable and more willing to go after their dreams.

Do you have anything else you’d like to say? Always take time to reflect and relax. It’s very easy to get caught up in branding that you forget the original goal. Settle your mind & trust the process while being true to it!
