Make Your Own Magic - Madison Palica

I followed Madison on Instagram a few months ago. I have no idea how I stumbled upon her page, but I'm so glad I did! Each day she posts such insightful things that cause me to stop & think further about different things. I'm so glad she agreed to be this week's Femme Friday. She has such a big & bright energy & has a lot to share with us.

What inspired you to create your own brand?

I think I have unconsciously been "creating a personal brand" since the days that Instagram first started and I was filtering with "Nashville."

This inner artist inside of me always wanted life to be 'curated' and Instagram was the perfect way to do that, in a bunch of little squares. I, of course, had been pursuing photography since the day I made a Myspace and Bebo profile, so posting photos with captions was always normal for me. And with the caption writing came a comfort with words, then a love for writing and story-telling.

By pursuing what I genuinely loved and was interested in, I eventually made a virtual world for my inner artist, filled with creation in endless variety. And it just so happened to coincide with modern e-business lingo like "creating a brand". I got lucky, honestly, that I could be a girl and live in a day where art and expression, regardless of your race or gender, is finally accessible and valued, especially in the STEM-driven corporate world. I am lucky that internet business is a thing that exists today.

Where do you wish to see your brand in the future?

Honestly? I feel like it's going to be big. HUGE. I don't know how, or why, or with what, but I can feel it.

I was never meant to be mediocre. That might seem cocky, but I've genuinely always felt it in my soul, that I'm here to do something BIG. RADICAL. And I dove into spirituality and personality tests and human design and all these things trying to figure myself out. What did they all say? THAT I'M HERE TO DO SOMETHING BIG AND RADICAL. AND BEAUTIFUL.

So I've kind of just accepted that when my time comes, it is going to come and it is going to be huge. But for now, I'm just patiently waiting, having fun and refining my craft... :)

What message are you trying to put out into the world with what you create?

At the core of it, all I want is for people to be able to drop the conditioning of this modern society and realize that THEY CAN follow their hearts. They are allowed to. It is possible. They are meant to do that, or else their heart wouldn't feel a certain way about that certain thing in the first place, ya feel?

We are all on this big ball of spinning dirt, not realizing that being alive itself is an absolutely mind-blowing MIRACLE!!! Yet, we stay here saying, "life sucks and then you die," and actually believing it! Life isn't here to suck. Life is here to have as much fun as you can, getting away with as much as you possibly can without getting hurt or imprisoned or dying! It's all just a big video game here for your pleasure, and all you have to do is love and take care of yourself in order to thrive. Consider loving yourself a cheat code.

That's what I want to get across to people. That you can create absolutely anything your heart desires, and this universe is supporting you in that.

What do you tell yourself when you’re stuck in a rut?

This is part of the process. Nature is the most beautiful thing there is, and even she goes through a cold and dead Winter, then always Springs back to life bigger and better than before.

What advice do you have for girls who are starting out?

The only advice I can give is do what you love, take the risks, don't be afraid of your own shine, and go with the flow. Trust the process because even the tiniest movement can trigger huge change, and things are always moving even when it feels stagnant. Just do your thing, trust your gut, listen to your heart, and have SO MUCH F*CKING FUN!

(Oh, and do. not. compare. They weren't lying when they said it's the greatest thief of joy.)

What has been the greatest reward of all your hard work so far?

Watching myself progress and bloom. I am a complete different person today than I was even just four or five years ago. I feel strong, confident and proud in who I am. I actually feel fearless and like I can take on any challenge I wish to. The world feels fun and inviting rather than scary and filled with anxiety. I am happy with myself. I have gained an inner understanding that I could've never dreamed even existed when I was, say, 18 years old.

Life becomes more beautiful each day and that's definitely a reward.

Why is it important for girls to find their own voice and share it with the world?

The world is only dominated by men right now because men are afraid of the power women hold. So throughout the ages women have been suppressed and oppressed -- for so long that most of us women forgot we even had any power.

But guess what? We're remembering. And we're becoming more confident about sharing our creative power with the world each and every day! Women are powerful because we think about the whole, and we lead with love and compassion.

I truly believe that a soulful world is just on the horizon, where all are equal and leading lives from their hearts. A world that operates on the inclusion and well-being of all people, animals, environments -- the whole planet, really.

Women will help us get to that point by using their voice, sharing their talents, and voicing the calls of their hearts.

Do you have anything else you’d like to say?

If you're interested in how to start creating a happier life, led from your heart, I wrote a book about it. It's available on Amazon and at the link in my instagram bio: @madisonpalica -- It's called Make Your Own Magic and it might just change your life. ;)
